Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. Here’s a little about why I started photography:
My name is Becky and I am the owner and photographer for Ivory Pocket Photography. I started photography after many years being in front of the lens as a model. After I realized that just wasn’t for me, I let my artistic side take over and I undertook photography. I will say it was beneficial to have modeled first, I learned a lot of things in passing from photographers I worked with! All of that aside, I felt a fire ignite within my soul when I started photography. It completely satisfied my creative side and my artistic passions. I always thought being an artist meant being able to draw or sing (I do neither of things, or rather – I do them, but only when nobodies watching!). Once I discovered photography, I was hooked. The ability to capture a moment for someone to cherish forever was so endearing, and so I dove in head first and never looked back. I have no regrets!
Get to know me a little more personally:
I am in my late twenties and I am a total bleeding heart. Really and truly, I believe compassion and kindness will get you so far in this world. I am a total foodie and love to cook for both myself and others! Trying new foods and finding new locations to shoot at are two of my simplest pleasures. Experiencing food is fun, find new locations to make magic at is even better. I love to meet my friends for coffee, venture off to the mountains whenever possible, and also truly enjoy solitude in its purest form. It took me a long time to get to a place where I genuinely enjoyed being around myself, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who will lend me an ear for a minute or two.
I have a cat named Abby who is my entire world – “fur baby” as most might say! She is the funniest, sassiest little cat I have ever met and I really don’t know what I’d do without her keeping me company while I edit photo sessions, work on my cross stitch, or binge watch Netflix! When I’m not editing sessions or out taking photos and working with my clients, I like to sit in a coffee shop and write, and also love a good cross word. I get my body moving at the gym as often as I can (and I also stay home and cross stitch or do puzzles, its all about balance).
I won’t keep you reading forever – but I believe it is important to know who you are working with! These are little pieces of me that I hope resonate with you. Thanks for reading, I look forward to working with you in our next session!
