“But what should I wear?”
This is a really common one, and I totally understand why as when I recently had photos taken of me, I was like “OMG panic, what do I wear?” My answer is simple. Wear what you are comfortable in. Don’t wear something you’d never choose to wear in a million years after the shoot – If you feel uncomfortable, it shows in your photos and plus, I want to capture the most genuine version of you. Wear something that makes you feel good. Keeping it neutral is always a good idea!
“Okay, so I’m dressed. Should I bring anything with me?”
Props are always so fun. When we are discussing your session and the photos you are looking to achieve – let me know if you want to bring props! Plenty of families, couples, etc have done it with me before and I am always happy to incorporate it. I also have a few fun things of my own – Like a letter board for “save the date” and some nice blankets. All of this being said, there is NO pressure to bring anything! If you bring just yourself or whoever I’m photographing, that’s just as perfect.
“I’m here, and I’m so excited. But what if I’m camera shy?”
This is an easy one. Wondering why? Spend more than two minutes with me and you’ll see that I’m cracking silly jokes, asking you questions to get to know you, and making this as fun and as memorable as possible. I’m going to get in your space. I’m going to pose you and prompt you, and make you do things like draw a letter on your husbands cheek with your nose. Don’t worry, I frequently remind people to just trust the process – and I haven’t had any complaints yet! I’m awkward and shy too, and I promise to make this session as easy going, silly and fun as possible!
“Wow, that was so fun. When can we see the photos, and HOW do we get to see them?”
The best question of all! I personally edit and retouch every single one of your photos myself, and then I upload them into an private online gallery for you to view, save, download and share with family and friends. Your images are available in ultra high resolution for printing, and also regular resolution so that you can share on the ‘gram to your hearts content without losing any quality or distorting the images!
“Sneak peeks” are generally delivered within 2 days. These are just 3-5 images to give you an idea of what you’re receiving later on! Your fully gallery will be available in 2 weeks, possibly less and an exact time frame will be stipulated in your contract.
“This is all fun and games, but we live in Alberta. Can we shoot in a studio and not freeze to death?”
Studio sessions are just as fun! I can even capture you at home in your element, if that’s what your’re into instead. I’m here to make your photo dreams a reality. If we use a studio, the studio fee will be added into my session fee and noted on you receipt.
“Why do we have to give a deposit? Don’t you trust that we’ll show up?”
Honestly, I really do trust and have faith in all of my clients. However, a deposit keeps everyone more accountable and also ensures that I’m not missing the opportunity to book with another client should you cancel last minute. Cancelling last minute is a lot easier when you haven’t secured your spot, and it can leave me in a situation where I could have easily booked someone else, and missed the opportunity because I devoted my time solely to you. I am completely devoted to you when I am working at your session. Giving a deposit lets me know that you are serious about working together, and makes everyone’s life’s just a little easier!
